Welcome to our Lab Safety resource library. Here you will find many different tools to aid you on your way to safer labs. The Lab Safety Guidelines has a wonderful history which  you can read about on the page. These are 40 guidelines to help you build a safer lab environment. Currently these guidelines are available in 11 languages! We are always looking for people to help with translation.

Labsafety-L is our listserv. This discussion list has over 600 lab professionals. Free to join and no dues ever taken.

This new Dictionary was converted from our old acronyms list.  We are now looking for contributions to grow our Lab Safety Dictionary.

LSI would like to remember those who are no longer with us.  Lab accidents are regrettably too frequent.  It is sad when we read reports of fatal accidents that could have been avoided or prevented.

Accidents in the Laboratory are all too common and there has always been a serious issue of under reporting. Perhaps the fear of punishment could be one of the leading causes. However, here at the Laboratory Safety Institute (LSI), we believe accidents are lessons we can learn from.
